Basil Simon’s experience as an attorney has been concentrated primarily in representing business clients in various commercial matters. As a general practitioner, he has represented clients in transaction matters including the negotiations of leases and general corporate work.
In 1982, Mr. Simon was appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice to the Panel of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees for the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Simon serves as a Panel Trustee and is currently the Panel President of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee’s Association for the Eastern District o Michigan. Mr. Simon has also been appointed as a Chapter 11 Trustee by the United States Bankruptcy Court. In this capacity, he has operated and liquidated numerous business operations. As a result of these appointments, he has accumulated extensive experience in managing and the administration of various types of operations and business enterprises.
In addition to his serving as a bankruptcy Trustee, Mr. Simon has also been appointed as a Receiver in numerous matters by the United States District Court and by Circuit Courts throughout the State of Michigan as well as having been nominated and serving as an Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors in several matters.
